The black stainless steel chains are cleaned of galvanic colour residues during the final production process. However, depending on the chain type and product, slight residues may remain. In addition, it is not a permanent coating, so the constant friction of the fur on the metal can create an antique look. Therefore this beautiful quality is not suitable for white or very light haired dogs.

Excellent quality, great results
I did a lot of research on prong collars and this brand repeatedly came up as the best so I though I'd give it a try. The results have been incredible. I must say I did hours of research on how to use and introduce a prong collar before using it and then spent a week introducing it positively in training sessions before using out of the house. Most importantly using it to reinforce the correct heel position when walking.
My dog is very reactive when on the lead to anything that moves fast, people, cars, bikes etc and this collar has reduced this by 90% straight away, she now walks to heel with a loose lead and checks back on my regularly and before reacting to things so it has really helped.

The Herm Sprenger Black Ultra-Plus Collar - Half Check with side Click Lock is a serious bit of kit. It is pure quality. It is simple to remove a link or two as required, yet not ‘easy’ to do so. The choke chain part is very strong and sturdy and easy to clip a lead onto. The prongs themselves are rounded and do not dig into the dog’s neck to extreme. The look of it is not scary, and the black look kind of masks what type of collar it is.
The slide click lock clicks into lock distinctly and has extra security included with a sliding cover that clicks into place over it.
I’m very pleased with the collar, and it appears extremely well made, and looks as though it will last for years……time will tell of course, but it has given me confidence that it will do so.
